Energica has what’s known as a dynamic brake light. Just like BMW motorcycles the light will flash on emergency braking to notify traffic behind you you’re not just slowing down. Energica has a slightly different implementation where it uses this function to inform traffic you’re braking using regen.
I’ve had people comment me on this dynamic brake light on my Energica but never really managed to record it myself. I’ve even been riding behind other Energica’s in the past but just never took the time to look over that footage. Thanks to some group rides though I now have the perfect footage of this feature in action. And even uploaded in 360Β°, so make sure to change the perspective. At the 16m time mark I’m riding up front of this camera.
How cool is that right? I remember I was riding in urban mode that day with level 1 regen (so barely active, 0 is regen OFF). I remember riding in urban because it was 200 km group ride and I was planning on not recharging during the ride. And yes that worked out.
Below is a video I made using some of his regular footage, so no 360 here. I used to have an insta 360 but just couldn’t find the time to edit the footage including different viewpoints. So I would just point it at the start somewhere and have it like that for the full edit… Hence I’m back on regular gopro’s :D.
On group rides I really hate, if people are unable to hold their position. Looks riders are everywhere the same π
The regen-brakelight I don’t like that much. It’s a bit difficult for those who follow if they don’t know about. Especially on twisted roads… π
Ha relax Marcus π but yeah it’s a good group in that no-one does crazy shit. Just thankful for that myself. The moving around can be a challenge βΊοΈ
